Do you have all your service contracts in order?

Repeat work can be the lifeblood of any contracting business. Rather than having to go out and generate new projects constantly, repeating work gives you a stable, predictable income. Service contracts are the thing that holds all this work together, ensures it is guaranteed for several years and formalises your service level agreements. Your service contracts will not only stabilise your business but also give it a real measurable value which can help when looking for investment or an exit strategy.

We should be looking for every opportunity to expand our service contracts, renewing and extending the ones we have already and adding new ones where possible.

It can be easy to miss out on these opportunities though. Caught up in our day to day, handling customer accounts, recruiting and retaining reliable field workers, keeping our office team efficient. Sometimes contracts are never set up formally, or renewal dates are missed or opportunities to review our pricing go by.

TeamPoint has a range of tools to help deal with these issues and to help you grow your repeat service business. As with most things in TeamPoint they're really simple, but really effective and have been developed by learning what our customers really need and really need to know at any point in time.

One great opportunity to grow repeat business are our install jobs. Once we've installed a new piece of equipment it's the perfect time to suggest a planned maintenance contract to ensure our customer's lovely new piece of kit is looked after and has a long service life. Often our install team and our maintenance team are separate and this opportunity gets lost between the cracks.

We offer a very simple check to ensure that you never miss out on this specific opportunity. In the contracts section of your home page we show you all install jobs from the last six months where no service contract is in place. We also show you all planned maintenance jobs from the last six months that are not supported by a service contract.

These two simple alerts can really help you capture as much repeat work as possible and make sure you don't miss out on some easy wins.
