How your field service workers can request holidays from their mobile TeamPoint app

In this video we're going to look at how to request holidays from the mobile app.

This is how your field workers can request holidays. This is the main menu, the main homepage of the mobile app and we simply click holidays to access our holidays. If I click here I can see a list of all the holidays that I've booked already. I can see I've got one here for April. To request a new holiday I just click request holiday at the top. We'll enter the date that we want to be on holiday from, start date and end date. We put a reason for the holiday, I'm just gonna put annual leave in here and we request the holiday. We get a notification now to say that that holiday has been requested. We can go back at any time in the mobile app, I can come through and I can check my holidays. I can see these ones are booked, authorised and this is requested still. That request hasn't been processed yet. Let's come back to our homepage.

If we flick it over to the desktop app now, this will be used by our administrators, we come over to our homepage, and we can see in the section here for holidays and expenses. We have one holiday request that has come in and needs to be dealt with. Let me click there, I can see the user Severn Solutions, that's me, and I've requested some annual leave. I've got the from and to dates and my status here shows requested. At this point I can either approve or decline that holiday request. Let's approve this one. So we'll approve that one, that has now created a holiday record within the the Teampoint database for us, that will show up on all of our calendars and our schedules when we're trying to plan our work. It will also send a notification back to my technician in the field to tell them that their holiday has been approved.

Let's check back into our mobile app, if we look into our notifications we can now see we have a new notifications just come through. Holiday request annual leave from May 5th has been approved. I can just clear all those notifications now. If I go and check my holidays now I can see that this annual leave has been approved and is sitting in my list of holidays. The same process would apply if we declined that holiday request. We will just get a notification saying that it had been declined.
