We're going to look at how we allocate jobs to subcontractors. In the previous video we looked at how we can book subcontractor operatives onto our jobs, but rather than booking them onto our jobs ourselves, we can actually just hand the whole job or a whole group of jobs over to our subcontractor and allow them to manage the work themselves. Let's have a look how we do that.

Let's find a job, first here's my list of jobs and here's my test job. I had don't have anybody booked onto the job at the moment, it's just a normal job sat in the system waiting to be scheduled. If I wanted to allocate this job to a subcontractor I would open the job details, go to more details and find the subcontractor field over here on the right. At the moment the subcontractor is my company so that effectively means there is not a subcontractor on this job at the moment, but if I want to allocate it to my test subcontractor all I have to do is click here choose a subcontractor and save the job. This job will now show on our list we can see the subcontractors name over here so we can tell that it's not allocated to us, it's being handed over to a subcontractor and the subcontractor will have access to this job and any other jobs that we allocate to them in the subcontractor portal. We'll go and have a look at that in another video
