Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week Defluo is one of the UK’s largest privately-owned plumbing, drainage, and building businesses in England & Wales and has plenty of experience satisfying businesses across all sectors.

Working to high standards of quality and compliance Defluo has grown an impressive customer list including many well renowned big name UK brands such as McDonalds, Burger King, Greene King, CBRE, Pure Gyms nd IKEA.

Based in Kent close to the famous Brands Hatch racing circuit Defluo Group provide general building, roofing, plumbing, heating and drainage services nationwide to a range of large commercial accounts across England and Wales.

PROBLEM

The success and growth of Defluo since 2008 has been impressive. However with continued growth Defluo found that increased paperwork was causing job processing delays and creating a growing administration overhead.

With paper worksheets being completed in field and then manually processed and invoiced Defluo had a number of points of double entry including typing up completed works into invoices. Following a recommendation Defluo contacted TeamPoint Software.

SOLUTION

TeamPoint Software conducted a 360-degree process map of all areas of Defluo’s diverse business operations. This included meeting all stakeholders from field operatives, warehouse, admin and up to the senior management team.

All processes were mapped and TeamPoint built a demonstration system for Defluo’s review. Defluo were happy with the proposal and delighted to see all jobs available on one system across all disciplines. Importantly Defluo were happy they could enforce company and client-specific procedures such as pre-works safety checks and work permits for their requirements.

In addition to digitising the paper process Defluo were also attracted to the simple ‘drag and drop’ scheduling tool that TeamPoint offered.

However what struck the Defluo management team was that TeamPoint really understood their business and what they wanted to do. Scott Fixter Defluo’s Operations director commented “once we met with TeamPoint it was clear they understood our business and could help us”.

Satisfied they were making the right choice Defluo instructed TeamPoint to proceed and the system was installed across all office staff and field operations.

Training was provided to Defluo’s field staff directly as part of the roll-out and also ‘system champions’ were appointed so training could be provided in house in the longer term. Scott commented “The training provided was great. Since then we haven’t really needed much as it’s so easy to use.”

Since installation staff engagement of the system has been very positive. The field team particularly like that they can view previous job visit history and photos whilst the office team have benefited from jobs being completed within the system so invoicing can be as simple as a one-click operation.

OUTCOME

Feedback on TeamPoint has been exceptional, the system has helped to deliver a 16% increase in Gross Profit and sales have climbed up 65% since prior to installation. All quotations from Defluo have been provided by Scott Fixter Operations Director.
